Preserving Houston’s history and heritage

Renowned architect John Staub made an indelible imprint on Houston’s landscape by designing hundreds of homes and properties for Houston residents over an illustrative 40-year career, beginning in the late 1920’s.

In the late 1950’s, one of his final projects was a home for Lawrence Reed that, today, is preserved and operated as the Manor House, The Houstonian’s signature private events venue. Once occupied by President George H. W. Bush, the Manor House is a step into the rich history of the Bayou City.
